UK-based Manufacture DataWind & Indian Govn. launched the World's cheapest Android tablet in India. Aakash- Cheapest android tablet was launched on Oct 05, 2011 for 500 school students who were the first recipients. Aakash is available for just $ 60 or 2,999 Rs in India where as School - college Students will get the Tablet in just 1,800 Rs.($35)Aakash has been launched primarily for the students in India and Government has subsidized it's price so that every one can afford Aakash. Aakash is the first government initiative in the crowded tablet market in India.
