Samsung Omnia W User Experience Review

I recently bought Samsung Omnia W which is loaded with windows OS. This Decision to buy Samsung Omnia W was difficult to take when we see market is flooded with android smart phones, But i chose Windows over Android. Windows OS looks great. The graphics, look & feel, touch is awesome. Windows OS is new & i was really expecting lot of flaws in th handsets. But i was amazed to see the great quality of Samsung Omnia W.

Samsung Omnia W Pros & Cons

No microSD card
It has got 8 GB static memory which can't be extended using microSD card. Out of 8 Gbs, 1.3 Gb is used for phones internal functions. SO you get just 6.7 Gbs for actual use. It can be disappointment for those who wants to store large amount of songs & videos in cell phone.

Great Display
It has got Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen which is the best display. The display size of 3.7' which is more than enough. Resolution of 480 x 800 pixels is good & display look crystal clear.

No Blue tooth
You would not buy this phone after reading this but yes, it lacks blue tooth. This is made to make this phone secure. Windows Phones don't support Blue tooth but if you want it, you will need an application called FLICK IT. Get it from Windows market Place.



No option to get call duration
No option to send contact as business card
If you send SMS to multiple contacts, it sends it as MMS.

Samsung Omnia W V/s Nokia Lumia 800:Comparison

Nokia Lumia 800 is the first Windows based mobile phone launched by Nokia. Nokia  has lost this first place of the number one mobile manufacturer to Samsung as Samsung Galaxy S2 is best seller mobile in 2011. To get in to the competition, Nokia launched Lumia 800 which is the 1st ever Windows phone from Nokia. Even samsung launched phone based on  Windows Mango Operating system with Samsung Omnia W.
These phones will compete as they both have similar features & set of users.

Design :
Samsung Omnia w has got bigger battery but still lighter than Nokia Lumia 800. Omnia W weighs around 115 gm while Lumia's weight is 142 gms. Omnia is thinner with its 11 mm thick design while Lumia 800 is 12 mm thick.

Price Difference:
Biggest difference & key factor which will affect any buyers decision is price. Omnia W costs Rs.19,900 while Nokia Lumia costs around Rs. 29,900 which is too much if you compare both cellphones.
Update: Nokia Lumia 800price has come down to the 24,999 in just 2 weeks. You can buy it on Sulekha.com.

Internal Memory & Data Storage:
Internal memory of Nokia Lumia 800 is a Monster. Lumia 800 has got 16 GB inteernal memory while omnia has got 8 GB internal memory.

About the Display:
Nokia Lumia has got AMOLED display while Samsung Omnia W has got Super AMOLED display.

Camera Quality:
Lumia 800 has got 8 MP camera & Samsung Omnia W has got 5 MP camera. Lumia's camera is works very nicely & capable of taking detailed pictures.

Battery & Stand By time:
Omnia has got bigger battery & awesome standby time of 22 days while Lumia 800 lasts for just 10 days.
You will have to charge Lumia frequently as compared to Samsung Omnia W.

Buying Samsung Omnia W is recommended as the Omnia W is better in all the aspects except the camera
 & internal memory but remember that Lumia 800's price is almost 1.5 times of Omnia W.
